Player Profile

Q: How did you pick your playing number?

A: I didn’t actually pick it, the original number I wanted was taken and so I just took the one the club gave me

Q: Do you have a nickname at hockey?

A:  Not really everyone usually just calls me Spina

Q: When did you start playing hockey?

A: 12 Years old 

Q: How did you score your first goal?

A: I think someone gave me a drop pass and all I had to do was shoot it into the net

Q: Do you have a set move on a breakaway or do you decide on the way in?  

A: I do have a set move but I usually decide weather to use it on the way

Q: Who was your favourite NHL player growing up?

A: My favourite NHL player would probably be Patrick Kane

Q: What other sports do you follow?  

A: I played soccer for 12 years so I’m a big fan of that

Q: Do you have a favourite shot? 

A: I probably use the snap shot the most

A: What’s the most memorable moment of your hockey career?  

A: I haven’t had the longest career but probably playing in the 2009 National Championship

Q: Worst injury you have had in a game?

A: I tore all the tendons and ligaments in my ankle after a hit along the boards

Q: What do you do in your free time away from hockey?  

A: Just hang out with mates or my family, I love going to the beach and doing all the stuff you do in summer 

Q: What’s your dream car?  

A: At the moment it would have to be a Holden VE Commodore Station Wagon

Q: You’ve just won the lottery what do you do?

A: Probably go on a trip, give some to my family, give some to charity and spend it on something I can enjoy

Q: What’s your future ambition?  

A: To play overseas and go to University then see where I’m headed 

Q: Favourite moment with the Bears?  

A: This is my first season with the Bears but just being on the team is great

Q: What do you have on your ipod right now?  

A: A lot of Acoustic stuff and a bit of RNB

Q: What do you enjoy most about playing hockey?  

A: The way that hockey takes you away from your problems and how much fun you can have playing and being with the boys on the team

A: Miracle by far
