Heading into the third period with a 5-0 lead Australia let their guard down and New Zealand score the only goal of the period making the final score 5 – 1.

Converting on their fourth attempt Australia finished the period in front 1 - 0. The second period saw North Korea score 2 goals in the first 10 minutes taking the leading. Backs against the wall Australia regained the lead with 2 powerplay goals to finish the period ahead 3 – 2. With only 10 minutes to go Korea leveled the score 3-3 sending the game to overtime. It took the Australians less than 2 minutes to score and clinch the game 4-3.
The Gold Medal game saw Australia faceoff against the hard hitting Icelandic Team coached by former Bears player “Josh Gribben”. Jumping out to an early lead Australia finished the first period in front 1-0. With the goal medal in their sights Australia quickly added another 2 goals to deflate any chance of a come back. The final period saw Iceland score in the final 8 minutes but Australia held on for the win and ultimately the Gold Medal.
